The company was formed in 1986 by William Keith
Fryer and others. SA Canopy Centre started making fibreglass
canopies in small premises in Pretoria West. The company originally
had two fitment centres, namely at the factory in Pretoria West and
one in Pinetown. During 1988 the company acquired a second
fibreglass canopy manufacturer in East London to boost production
due to increased demand. A range of vehicle accessory products was
also launched nationally at this time. During 1994 SA Canopy Centre
bought Slipstream Fibreglass Products that manufactured fibreglass
canopies and other specialized fibreglass products. The two
companies amalgamated on 30 June 1997.
During 2003 SA Canopy Centre merged with an associate company
Phantom Industries (Pty) Ltd and restructured for additional
growth as a national supplier.
SA Canopy Centre is approved and has
Direct Supply Agreements with most of the major motor manufacturers and vehicle importers in South Africa.The company is also the proud recipient of ongoing achievement and supplier awards in the industry. |
